The One Where David Archuleta was There
Companion's Log
Stardate: Dec 17-23, 2019
After a good ol p-day of sledding and dnd, we went caroling/tracting with some people from our ward. Some people were still clearly not interested in hearing us sing a second verse but other people were really touched and love it! It was super awesome I wish I could always tract like that!
So we had an appointment set up with Jessica, but when we came she wasn't home. So we went to a nearby McDonald's to use the bathroom and send some texts, try to figure out what we could do next. Then guess who walked in? Jessica! It may not seem like much but we got to appreciate the little tender mercies and miracles. Sister Randall shared a really cool thought at a lesson a few weeks ago. About how with the first miracle Jesus performed, at the wedding, He knew, Mary and the servants knew, but the master of the feast was completely oblivious to the fact that a miracle had happened. He just thought there was some really good wine, never realized it had been water. There are miracles happening all around us that we don't recognize.
Speaking of miracles, we put Katelynn on hesitant date this week! I was in ysa on exchanges with Sister Vehikite, so I wasn't there to see it, and the hesitant date won't be for whole transfer, but that's dang exciting! Then for district council we made a bunch of treats and goodie bags, then that night went caroling together to people we're teaching and contacting, it was super fun.
So...mission conference. Yeah I'm starting to realize that I don't really do well in large groups or crowds, especially when mingling is involved. I've known I'm more introverted for a while, but this confirmed that it's like real I guess. I could feel all my energy being vampired out of me within the first five minutes. We did break out sessions with different stations about the countries and cultures represented by Elders and Sisters in the mission, that was pretty cool. I got this lil baby Jesus at the Mexico station. Then David Archuleta spoke about his mission and stuff and sang, you guessed it, glorious. Then a bunch of other random stuff including a giant flying fish, some Elder like break dancing, and a little Christmas Carol performance. I tried to get something out of it but I was basically just really uncomfortable and dying inside for like 9 hours and waiting for it to be over lol. Our dinner appointment afterwards actually really refreshed me though so that was nice.

P.s. if anyone is actually reading this could you like send me a life update or something so I know you're not dead? I haven't heard from anyone in forever.

Still enjoying living the missionary life vicariously through you! I hear you on the crowds ... suck the life right out of me ... Sis. Hilgendorf loves them, but I'm usually anxious to leave. I wonder how Heavenly Father would choose to help you with that if you ask.
