The One Where We Didn't Forget Second Breakfast

You call this Christmas Eve, Idaho? This is short-sleeve weather!
Seriously I went short-sleeved on the 24th. Now literally proving everyone I meet right, they all always say "so you're used to the cold then" and "so this is like summer to you" when they find out I'm from Michigan. There's light fluffy snow now which is nice, but too little too late Idaho.
We had a zone breakfast on Christmas Eve morning. Sounds nice, right? Yeah that's what I thought but turns out it was all a ruse to trick me into more awkward mingling! As if I didn't have enough of that at mission conference! It was okay though, I got to hide out in the kitchen flipping pancakes while everyone else played football and stuff. It was fun. Then Jeanne took us to the hospital to deliver all the blankets we've been tying to Nicu!
Later we went to the Grace-Lutheran church with Kathy (rake a difference lady) for the Christmas Eve mass. It was pretty cool, one of the pastors showed off his adorable new grandson so that was cute. My favorite part was at the end when we light our candles, passing the light around, I really like the symbolism of that.
Okay and then the Elders were like do you have any Christmas eve traditions? and I was like well my mom sent me the stuff to make two candy trains! But we only had like 15 minutes before curfew and we spent most of that time trying to figure out how to make royal icing so it was the most rushed candy trains in my life but it was still super cool to share that family tradition.
Weird how being on a mission makes you actually like and look forward to Mondays but also kinda dislike Christmas? We slept over with the YSA sisters then had two breakfasts on Christmas morning. We weren't going to have a dinner but Brother Cady came to us that Sunday to make sure we were taken care of and invited us over. It's so amazing how everyone welcomes us in with their families! Nick sent me an x-files pin and said I should wear it with my name tag. I was like it's Christmas why not so I wore it for the rest of the day and no one at this huge family dinner mentioned it?!
Another member took us to the temple with her the next day and wow spiritual experiences can be so physically exhausting! We got transfer info which was stressful. District is all staying the same except we have a new Ap because Elder Aholelei is going home. Still not exactly sure what will happen when Sister Randall goes home a week into the transfer but we'll see. We took the Elders to meet Carmelita, she asked us to because we didn't have time to stop in after caroling last week. It was super cool and she totally roasted me again about how I'll have to "actually learn to talk" after Randall leaves!
That's about it happy new year yall!
