The One Where I Killed My Mom

Companion's Log
Stardate: Jan 7-13, 2020

Wow another long week, feels weird looking back. Dang.

Okay we had an fhe with the Gordon's on monday, that was fun. Sister Randall had a temple trip for departing missionaries on tuesday so I was on exchanges again, with Sister Rice and in my area this time. It was a lot better, felt better about my ability to be a a good missionary on my own and stuff. We were able to contact a referral we've been knocking for a while and it went really well! I've been pretty aware of my weaknesses lately but I know that Christ's grace is sufficient. We are instruments in God's hands, the spirit works through us, it doesn't matter if I word the door approach exactly right, if the person is ready and the spirit testifies then the little details won't really change the outcome. Weak things can become strong, but God also knows us and makes up the difference. Moses was given a spokesman, and I believe the ten commandments were written on tablets because Moses couldn't speak well.

Lots of packing and saying goodbye and all that jazz and then Sister Randall flew home early Thursday morning (aka I killed my mom). Now I'm in a temporary trio with the ysa sisters, Sister Vehikite and Soper (from canada, and she knows Sister Shipley! Small world). We had an awesome lesson with Katelynn! She was hesitant and unsure last week but now she's really excited!

We went to a baptism in the ysa and man it was so good! I've never really felt that way at a baptism before. His friend who baptised him gave a talk beforehand, they've been friends for a long time and it just got me thinking about my friends back home, imagined some of them in the white jumpsuit, everyone looks so good in white! Man it was just an amazing feeling, that's gonna be Katelynn in a few weeks, I can't wait for her to feel that joy!

We had a joint district council with the ysa district because of the trio, Elder Wieder called me a traitor! Lol honestly the district unity is so strong and I love it! I love having a district, I love having friends like this it's a good time.

The stress was strong last week but we pushed through. Now I'm with Sister Lewis and we're going to be working two areas, in two different zones, but we also have a car now!
