The One Where idk

Stardate: June 23-28, 2020

Okay so on pday I dmed a one shot for the first time!! Ah! Yeah it was cool, kind of a mess idk, a bunch of elders here wanted to learn how to play dnd, it was fun, they're cool, I hope they liked it. Well I guess they did because they want to keep playing, but I don't really know what I doing so we'll see.

It's cool because I actually got to talk about it with Carol, one of the people we're teaching, she used to play dnd when she was in college. 3 other people we work with mentioned dnd this week, so we'll see what the future holds?? Ot was cool to connect with Carol a little better, I was always pretty quiet with Ales, but Lavoie is much more personable and stuff, cares about people as people, beyond just teaching principles, getting to know them for real. It's pretty cool.

So we visited Meredith in the hospital...and helped her escape to smoke. Yeah oof. She kinda tricked us the first time, and manipulated a bit the second time, it was a weird situation. Less than bueno. Addictions are very powerful, it's scary to see how much control and influence it can have on a person. This is the opposite of what God want for His children. He wants us to have our free agency, to act not be acted upon. But He does not view weakness as the same as active rebellion, we get credit for trying, His love for us is unconditional, patient and long-suffering. 

That's about it, long crazy week which was kinda all over the place but I'm trying to hold on and have faith that someday it will all make sense lol. We've been hanging out with the Spanish Elders quite a bit, Jimenez and Belizan are so cool, it's nice to have friends again. We kidnapped Pablo the penguin from Caudras and Manwaring's car and they were not too happy about it. And I met Aiden, grandson of Brenda,  someone Sister Lavoie knew when she served in this area last year. He is my new favorite 11 year old, he has pet jumping spiders and they are so hecking cool! I've found that I'm much better at talking with kids than maybe I am with adults. It actually feels really nice.
