The One Where Katelynn Wasn't Baptized

Companion's Log Stardate: Jan 28-Feb 3, 2020 Oh dang. How do I even begin to describe this week? So much has happened and yet I still can't believe it's already p-day again. Alright here comes a long one but it's worth it, trust me! Okay let's just cut to the chase. Basically we got some really hard news from Katelynn's mom on Monday, and I kinda maybe had a little panic attack I guess? Yeah it's a huge mess and I took it really hard, probably the lowest, hardest point of my mission so far. It was rough. After President told us on Monday I sat outside alone in the cold for like an hour. When I was finally able to come in I got a blessing, tried to go back to normal, but kept thinking about it so I cried during our lesson and we decided to call it a night and drown our sorrows in bread lol The next day was kinda weird, we did Come Follow Me, lunch and service with Sister Lewis's district (the deadbeats) but then our appointment and dinner canceled...

The One Where We Got a Car

Companion's log Stardate: Jan 14-20, 2020 So Sister Lewis is great, it's a good time! We're working both of our areas, in two different zones, with split custody between our districts (though we've decided that her district is the deadbeat dad district and mine is the lit homie district, obviously). So yeah it is crazy busy! Everyday is super long and we come home tired, but that's good when you're a missionary. And we got a car so that's cool, except it took me a while to get used to driving again and we totally got stuck in a pothole in our dinner's driveway on our first day with it!   We had another little miracle contact with Jessica, we haven't been able to catch her for so long but we "happened" to show up basically right when she needed us and we were able to call her a ride and help her out. We also had a cool lesson with Kaleigh to help her prepare for her baptism next week. She's worried about how she has to catch up ...

The One Where I Killed My Mom

Companion's Log  Stardate: Jan 7-13, 2020 Wow another long week, feels weird looking back. Dang. Okay we had an fhe with the Gordon's on monday, that was fun. Sister Randall had a temple trip for departing missionaries on tuesday so I was on exchanges again, with Sister Rice and in my area this time. It was a lot better, felt better about my ability to be a a good missionary on my own and stuff. We were able to contact a referral we've been knocking for a while and it went really well! I've been pretty aware of my weaknesses lately but I know that Christ's grace is sufficient. We are instruments in God's hands, the spirit works through us, it doesn't matter if I word the door approach exactly right, if the person is ready and the spirit testifies then the little details won't really change the outcome. Weak things can become strong, but God also knows us and makes up the difference. Moses was given a spokesman, and I believe the ten commandments wer...

The One Where Sister Randall has Less Days than Elder Sorensen has Years

Companion's Log Stardate: Dec 31, 2019-Jan 6, 2020 Today is my Eleventy-first day on the mission. Yup, also I'm going to be a missionary for the entirety of 2020. True facts. Sister Randall had her departing interview and activities on Tuesday so I was on an exchange with Sister Headlee in her area most of the day. Honestly it was kind of rough, I don't know, I was just really tired and out of it, didn't really feel like myself. Sister Randall has begun packing and saying goodbye to people! We did a lot of service this week, everything is still so slow because of the holidays. We baked and delivered some treats with Carmelita, helped Jeanne move stuff to her sheds, shoveled some driveways, and mucked and groomed some horses with Sister Tolman. Weekly planning was actually really nice, I've really enjoyed it the past few weeks. It's usually really long and brain sucking but I've found it really invigorating. It feels nice and productive to make pl...
