The One Where I Should Have Worn Sunscreen

Companion's Log Stardate: Aug 24-30, 2020 Well it was a crazy busy week as usual and I'm way behind in my journal so I don't even know anymore.  We woke up early and went to Cauldron Linn on Monday. Speed painted a birthday present for Edie. Visited people and stuff idk the usual. I joined some watercolor groups on Facebook. Drove to Twin on Wednesday and hung with the homie squad for a short and sweet amount of time. Sigh my appointments have been a little disappointing, frustratingly. Feel like it's not doing much to help yet, but I'll get there, I hope. This week a lot of the time I felt like I was kinda drifting, idk how to explain it exactly but it feels weird.  Hung with Aleecia and had a cool experience, we'd walked past this man a few times then he came back to us to ask about temple sealings, it was so cool and Aleecia got to bare her epic testimony. She has the strongest faith I've ever seen, she is amazing.  Helped out at the Paul Palooza, I cho...

The One Where I'm Not Inactive Anymore

(Well this is awkwardo this was supposed to send last week sorry) Companion's Log  Stardate: Aug 10-23, 2020 Sorry I missed last week. It's crazy, we've been so bust and the days have been so full and I don't even know where the times goes yet at the same time it can feel like it drags along.  So last week we had zone conference with Elder Cornish of the 70 it was pretty cool. One of our wards had an ice cream social. It is moving season, we've been helping so many people with moving in and out. And we went to church with Jade to one of her services, it was really cool.  Last week I thought I'd try to paint pictures for scriptures, the goal was to do one everyday. Sometimes it was great and made me happy, other times it was a struggle and kinda upsetting. The main thing is that it takes time to paint. That's been a struggle my whole mission, except during quarantine. There's just no time, missionary strictly formatted rigid schedule doesn't really fi...

7 day Bible Challenge

Image
Day 1 I was challenged by my awesome friend  Allainze Jade Toyhacao Makiling  to post one Bible verse everyday for 7 days. The objective is to spread God's word on fb "that it may become more viral than covid-19" I was also inspired by my awesome friend  Hannah Potter  (whom I'm now nominating) to add my own twist, so I'm going to try to paint a little something for each verse this week. Psalms 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou  hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? I love the stars, planets, space, the most awe inspiring of God's creations. Every once in awhile I have that little existential moment when I realize the eternal expanse of the universe and just how small we really are, everything we know on just a pale blue dot. But that just makes it even more amazing that Heavenly Father knows and loves each of us personally. He is aware,...

The One Where I Didn't Give Up

Companions Log Stardate: August 3-9, 2020 Soooo once again, long week in which the days blur together We helped someone move, invited most of the district so we finished pretty fast. Went to Twin on Wednesday for another appointment, so cool thing about that is Sister Lewis is serving in Twin, and Elder Savage just got transferred to her district so...heck yes we got to reunite the squad for lunch and classic throw back to Soda Barn, except they dont have a Soda Barn so we went to Sips. Yeah good times, so good to see them, also strange bc it's been so long wow. Okay we took Emily out with us, she's a young woman who just submitted her mission papers. No one answered the door but it was still quite awesome!  So sad times hit on the weekend. Idk as usual it doesn't make much sense. But I had a lot on my mind and things built up lack of motivation and vicious cycles and what not until I ended up kinda spiraling.  It's suddenly all good now, though I'm not sure why fo...

The One Where I Killed Sister Lavoie

Image
Companion's Log  Stardate: July 27-August 2, 2020 So for pday we went to Steadmans, crazy fun slippin slide and sunburns. Drove out to Pocatello on Tuesday to drop off Sister Lavoie then i was in a trio with Sister Salyards and Edson. We visited the Hadley's while we were there and showed the sisters the sword collection. Then we helped Meredith pack a few things and visited with her. Next day drove out to twin, that was a long busy day. Then transfers! So lol we came back home to the door ajar, that happens sometimes but Sister Salyards lives a better safe than sorry life style soooooooo we gave the Heyburn police something to do for once lol and one of them searched our apartment haha. No problems though. Then we went to pick up my new comp, Sister Soderquist and we helped Meredith finish moving and cleaning.  We had a bible delivery, which ended up more like a parking lot bible drug deal. Helped Meredith some more and had a hecking awesome lesson with her! I love her...
